Heures Universelles, 2024 GHPG Official Nomination
Our Heures Universelles candidate, frozen in the 1930’s, is an homage to the art deco period and the iconic Louis Cottier designs.
The city names and timezones are as they were known in the era. The font, angular designs and finish are a subtle reminiscence of the style.
The timepiece is manually wound, sporting a 96-hour power reserve. It features a sapphire dial adorned in a 0.2mm thin metallic center, engraved indices along with blackened gold hands.
The watch has a magnifying flat top concave sapphire crystal. City names on the bezel are grand feu enameled.
The entire watch uses as little ink as possible, as little ink as possible was used in the creation of the watch, so that the true nature of the materials could reveal itself without any make up applied, plating or paint.
The case, crafted from a novel tantalum-tungsten alloy—a first in watchmaking—ensures a unique sheen, exceptional durability, and unparalleled corrosion resistance.
Ref KM000HU is a modern reimagination of the Louis Cottier pocket watches. It uses avant-garde materials while upholding a timeless design.
